PNN.Com Stories

"I do not write for the benefit of anyone other than myself. It is generally at the end of the day, when my family is tucked into their beds that I sit here in the dark and "rant."

(My 10 year old daughter) "refers to me to all her friends as "freaky note woman" because I won't let her participate in any school events without a detailed written description of the activity, what's involved and who's in charge. I tell her this, no one is "normal." Actually, I'm not sure what normal is, and I'm not sure I want to. I'm proud of my chaotic life, my sassy mouth children and my hairy yeti of a husband. I have degree in English and was always given the advice by professors to "write what I know."

"Welcome to the Owen Family Web site. Kristen keeps this site up, so it's really more of a "The Owen Family According to Kristen" Web site. Please poke around and check back often. We add blog entries, photos and videos daily. Click on a person's name across the top to read what that person is up to."  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE

Aunt Eleanor

"My first recollection of Aunt Eleanor is from 1925, when I was six. A very tall figure stood framed in a big doorway, welcoming me with open arms. Every summer when I was young, my two brothers, my mother, and I traveled to the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains to spend July and August with my Aunt Corinne. She was the sister of President Teddy Roosevelt and Elliott Roosevelt, my grandfather. We always broke up our journey by spending a few days with Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Franklin in Hyde Park, in the house where Uncle Franklin was born." CLICK HERE TO READ MORE.

Writing on PNN.Com

"A collection of poems written by my son which illustrate the extreme "highs" and devastating "lows" of Bipolar Disorder.  May they give insight and understanding to all who read them."
