"I do not write for the benefit of anyone other than myself. It is generally at the end of the day, when my family is tucked into their beds that I sit here in the dark and "rant."

(My 10 year old daughter) "refers to me to all her friends as "freaky note woman" because I won't let her participate in any school events without a detailed written description of the activity, what's involved and who's in charge. I tell her this, no one is "normal." Actually, I'm not sure what normal is, and I'm not sure I want to. I'm proud of my chaotic life, my sassy mouth children and my hairy yeti of a husband. "My first recollection of Aunt Eleanor is from 1925, when I was six. A very tall figure stood framed in a big doorway, welcoming me with open arms. Every summer when I was young, my two brothers, my mother, and I traveled to the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains to spend July and August with my Aunt Corinne. She was the sister of President Teddy Roosevelt and Elliott Roosevelt, my grandfather.
